Thailand Division Pilot Skills Tour 2018

Type of aircraft: Turboprops and light to heavy jets

Rules:

• Type of aircraft suggestion: any turboprops and light to heavy jets
• Type of flight: IFR/VFR
• Include as remark in your flight plan “RMK/THAI SKILLS18 LEGxx” (replace ‘xx’ with the leg number) is MANDATORY.
• Completed flights must be reported within 7 days after the flight.
• Max Speed for IFR: 0.83 MACH
• Max Speed for VFR: 250 KIAS
• Maximum flying altitude for IFR: FL410
• Maximum flying altitude for VFR: should be based on surrounding terrain, but should not exceed 9500ft AGL
• Maximum legs per day: 5
• Speed restriction : Below 10.000′ max 250IAS
• Remember to report legs in UTC time.
• A maximum disconnection of 20 minutes will be accepted
• When flying in uncontrolled airspace, communicate your intentions on UNICOM (122.800)
• All the legs MUST be flown online, using “real weather”, in realtime mode (1x sim rate).
• All the legs MUST be flown in the right order
• Please pay attention to your flight plans. Flight plans with wrong departure/arrival airfields will NOT be accepted
• Your flight plan must include at least one real alternate arrival airport. ZZZZ as an alternate will NOT be accepted.
• Aircraft must be stationary while online for a minimum of 6 minutes before departure and after arrival

LEG01 VTUD-VTUU

• Flight rules: VFR
• Route: UDN DCT SKN DCT SKN/R100/38D DCT UBL
• Instruction:
  • Direct to SKN VOR
  • After SKN VOR intercept radial 100 degree fly about 38 nm, answer the question then turn right heading 180 direct to VTUU
• Question:
  • Q1. You’ll see the lake over SKN VOR what is the lake called?
  • Q2. What is the river name at SKN/R100/38D?

LEG02 VTUU-VTUL

• Flight rules: VFR
• Route: UBL DCT LOY
• Instruction:
  • Maintain heading 307 degree direct to LOY VOR and land safely
• Question:
  • Q1. How many airports you can see during the flight?

LEG03 VTUL-VTBU

• Flight rules: VFR
• Route: LOY DCT NKR DCT BKK/R065/48D DCT BUT
• Question:
  • Q1. What is the name of the mountain that you can see when flying over BKK/R065/48D?

LEG04 VTBU-VTSS

• Flight rules: IFR
• Route: BUT M904 PIDEL Y11 RILVI R575 UPNEP A464 HTY
• Question:
  • Q1. What is the nearest lake name at the destination?
  • Q2. Refering from question 1, what is the airport ICAO code at the nearest lake?

LEG05 VTSS-VTST

• Flight rules: VFR
• Route: HTY DCT HTY/R275/12D DCT HTY DCT TRN
• Instruction:
  • Circle around the mountain at HTY/R275/12nm as much as you want
  • Direct back to HTY VOR
  • Proceed to TRN VOR and land safely to the airport
• Question:
  • Q1. How much of grid MORA when you fly over that mountain (Refer to World VFR Map Skyvector.com)

LEG06 VTST-VTSP

• Flight rules: IFR

• Instruction:
  • Land at the airport with ILS runway 27

  • Approach at the airport with ILS runway 36 and circling to land on runway 18

LEG10 VTCC-VTBO

• Flight rules: IFR

  • Just land safely at the airport 😀

LEG11 VTBO-VTBT

• Flight rules: VFR
• Instruction:
  • Follow the coast until you can see the airfield.

LEG12 VTBT-VTUK

• Flight rules: Z
• Route: BUT M904 BKK W1 KRT W6 KKN
• Instruction:
  • Fly you plane back to VTBU with VFR flight rules
  • Request ATC Clearance if there is ATC available, change to IFR, and fly to VTUK with the given route

LEG13 VTUK-VTBD

• Flight rules: IFR
• Route: KKN W16 UTTAR PAE W22 CTR W20 CMA W7 MST W26 PSL W9 TL W8 KRT W1 UBLOD ENDUU1A
